Devo dire che dal punto di vista di una persona che non ci è mai stata si è rivelata una bella sorpresa perchè equilibra le esigenze di qualsiasi amante dei motori: dal curioso che ha letto della ultima novità su una rivista agli ecologisti, a coloro che cercano i veicoli più bizzarri. Questo stand invece lo si potrebbe definire con un termine tipico dei rapper afroamericani "bling bling". Era a dir poco accecante e sbrilluccicoso, essere una ragazza non comporta necessariamente ad adorare i lustrini, se poi si è uno scaricatore di porto camuffato da donna ancor peggio!
Questo stand secondo me ha spiccato moltissimo perchè a differenza di coloro che vendevano poster e placche qui si potevano trovare dei meravigliosi quadri dipinti ad olio in cui vengono ritratte donne su delle Harley-Davidson, perlopiù vestite o in stile vintage o steampunk. Mi sono voluta documentare su tale David Uhl ed ho scoperto che sin dal 1993, è diventato l'illustratore ufficiale H-D, che dietro permesso riproduce le foto vintage in bianco e nero dell'archivio della Harley. A questo punto devo confessare che è successa una cosa piuttosto inaspettata.
Mi sono imbattuta in questa "bambina" ed ho provato qualcosa di molto simile alla prima volta che ho posato gli occhi sulla prima Harley. Mi ci sono avvicinata e l'ho squadrata con minuzia in ogni dettaglio pensando "no dai, avrà sicuramente qualcosa che non mi piace...non è lei quella giusta!". Eppure... ma mi sentivo come se solo io fossi cosciente del fatto che in realtà era unica ed intangibile. Insomma è stato amore! Ho finalmente scoperto cosa voglio!

Having grown up in a fishing village in Michigan, David Uhl draws on both nature and nurture for his artistic ability. After spending his high school years drawing and painting, he received the only scholarship offered to a senior to attend the Colorado Institute of Art. An avid Harley owner since 1988, Uhl’s passion would soon coincide with his artistic talent. Harley-Davidson Motor Company executives recognized David’s creative talents and introduced him to Segal Fine Art, a licensed publisher of Harley-Davidson fine art. David would now spend endless hours in the Harley-Davidson Archives researching vintage photos to use as reference for his official fine art paintings.

David states, “My work must be life-like and believable, which requires a great amount of mixing colors to reach the desired temperatures and hues.
